How to Apply for Our Programs
Applying is simple. Fill out the form on our website, or call an advisor at 1-888-470-9723. Our admissions advisors will walk you through the process, help you pick the right program, and answer any questions. No entrance exams, no prior experience required — just a willingness to learn a trade.
Available Training Programs
Rocky Mountain Technical Trades School offers five online programs: HVAC Technician, Electrical Technician, Plumbing Technician, Building & Facilities Maintenance, and Appliance Repair. Each is 100% online and self-paced, taught by working tradespeople, and built around immersive virtual reality skills labs. You earn real, industry-recognized certifications and finish ready for an entry-level job in the trades.
Tuition and Fees
Tuition varies by program. We keep training affordable and offer flexible payment plans and financing so cost isn't a barrier to starting a trades career. Our HVAC and Appliance Repair programs are Montana WIOA-approved — if you think you may qualify for WIOA funding, talk to an advisor and we'll help you check. (RMTTS is not yet GI Bill / VA eligible.)
Student Support & Our Commitment
Your success is the whole point. From your first day through job placement, our advisors and instructors are here to help — with coursework questions, weekly office hours, and resume and interview support when you finish. If something isn't working, tell us and we'll work with you. Cancellation and refund terms are spelled out plainly in our Refund Policy.
HOW LONG DO PROGRAMS TAKE
Most students finish in 6 - 12 weeks, working at their own pace. HVAC and Appliance Repair run 100 clock hours; Electrical, Plumbing, and Building & Facilities Maintenance run 150 hours. You have up to 12 months to complete the program.
ARE THE COURSES REALLY 100% ONLINE
Yes. All coursework is online and self-paced, with immersive virtual reality skills labs you can run on a Chromebook, Windows or Mac laptop or a Meta Quest / Pico headset.
WHAT CERTIFICATIONS WILL I EARN
It depends on the program. Across our five programs you can prep for EPA 608, OSHA 10, NATE Ready to Work, NFPA 70E Awareness, the ATC Certified Electrical Apprentice exam, and the Plumbing Technician Certificate. Each program page lists exactly which credentials it targets.
WILL THIS MAKE ME A LICENSED TECHNICIAN
No — and we're upfront about that. RMTTS programs are pre-employment credentials and pre-apprenticeship pathways. They get you job-ready for entry-level roles and set you up for registered apprenticeship. They do not by themselves satisfy journeyman licensure hour requirements in Montana or Idaho.
IS THE PROGRAM WIOA APPROVED
Our HVAC and Appliance Repair programs are Montana WIOA-approved. If you think you may qualify for WIOA funding, talk to an advisor and we'll help you check.
CAN I USE GI BILL / VA BENEFITS
Not at this time. RMTTS is not yet GI Bill / VA eligible. We'll update this as our eligibility changes.
DO I NEED ANY EXPERIENCE TO START
No prior experience required. You'll need to be at least 18, comfortable reading and doing basic math, and have a computer, internet, webcam, and microphone.
